Kim Meijer, LMFT, SEP

Kim Meijer is a NYC based psychotherapist (LMFT) and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner Therapist (SEP) with a specialization in Integrative Therapy. Integrative Therapy combines Psychotherapy, Somatic practices, and plant medicine to heal the body, mind and spirit. She works with individuals, couples and families from various cultural backgrounds and all stages of life. She has extensive experience working with people experiencing challenges related to anxiety, addiction, attachment, depression, grief, intimacy, trauma (emotional, physical, sexual & generational) and stress. Kim has a practice in Manhattan, New York.
Kim received her Masters in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, California. She is also certified in Somatic Experiencing, Trauma and the Expressive arts, Contemplative Psychotherapy, and Yoga, Meditation & Breath practices. Her work is deeply informed by Tibetan Buddhism and Jungian Studies into the unconscious, archetypal energies, and dreams. In 2022, she went to Peru to study plant medicine with a female Shaman from the Shipibo tribe. Kim is dedicated to honor traditional and ancient traditions with sacred medicine.
Kim is originally from the Netherlands and has lived in the NYC area for the past 25 years. She is a member of an Afro Caribbean dance group and Batala NYC, an all female samba percussion ensemble using art activism in support of decolonization and freedom. Kim is passionate about supporting others on their paths, healing trauma and wounds, connecting them with their authentic selves, living full, expansive, and joyful lives, while tending to the soul of this world. Kim believes in the healing potential of community & connection and is deeply grateful to be part of this movement towards awakening & liberation.
